Fake hate crime?

And the cops let her husband leave the country. Nice work Lou.

Fatima, her father and a brother flew to Iraq last week for Alawadi’s funeral on Saturday and planned to stay for two weeks, a family friend said. Alawadi’s father is a Shia cleric in Iraq.

Hate Crime?

I almost hope it was somebody else with a personal angle for her death just because I’d hate to think that there’s somebody that hates Iraqis enough to kill them in a city that has 40,000 Iraqis living in it. Even when I went to high school in El Cajon back in the early 80’s I can remember knowing Iraqis that lived there. If being Iraqi was all it took to make them murder a person with such violence they wouldn’t stop with just the first victim.

Al Himidi told KUSI-TV her mother had been beaten on the head repeatedly with a tire iron, and that the note said “go back to your country, you terrorist.”

Police Lt. Mark Coit said a threatening note was discovered “very close to where the victim was found,” but he did not disclose other details of the note. The family said they had found a similar note earlier this month but did not report it to authorities, Coit said.

Coit said the attack appeared to be an isolated incident.

“A hate crime is one of the possibilities and we will be looking at that. We don’t want to focus on only one issue and miss something else.”

It sounds like the police aren’t exactly convinced it’s a slam dunk as a hate crime too.

Another Christian Martyr

We use words while the enemy uses bullets and bombs.

A group linked to al-Qaida claimed responsibility. “This operation comes as a response to the campaign of Christian proselytizing that the West has launched against Muslims,” an unidentified person said in a text message to journalists, claiming responsibility on behalf of the Ansar al-Sharia (Partisans of Islamic Law).

The Return of the Nuclear Family

I’m sure the media would be happy to spin this for Obama. They can say his economic policies has helped bring back the family values of the 50′s.

Surprisingly, most “boomerang kids” don’t mind living with mom and dad. If ever there were a stigma about living with parents through one’s late twenties and thirties, the recession and, along with it, a practical dollars-and-cents outlook on life have all but erased that perception.

Of those living at home, some 78 percent say they’re upbeat about their living arrangements, according to the Pew study, and 24 percent say it’s been good for their relationships with their parents (48 percent say it hasn’t changed their relationship).

See, it’s actually a good thing to not be able to support yourselves and sponge off of your parents for a few more decades. I love my children, but I raised them to be independent creatures. It wouldn’t be good for them to move back in for an extended period. It’s kind of like welfare in that way. We want to help people who are less fortunate, but we don’t want to make them dependent on that help to survive indefinitely.
